This morning I worked two stations, a Belgium station and a Swedish station which answered my CQ call. Around noon the band was much quieter. So I have been operating on 30m every day this month and I never failed to make a contact on a daily basis. The following is a summary:
Entities worked were: Aland Island 1 QSO, Austria, 1 QSO, Belgium 7 QSO, Czech Republic 2 QSO, England 6 QSO, European Russia 2 QSO, Denmark 10 QSO, Finland 2 QSO, France 17 QSO, Germany 33 QSO, Hungary 3 QSO, Iceland, 2 QSO, Italy 5 QSO, Netherlands 7 QSO, Norway 4 QSO, Poland 2 QSO, Scotland 1 QSO, Spain 4 QSO, Sweden 9 QSO, Switzerland 3 QSO and Wales 2 QSO; making a total of 123 QSOs.
Of the total QSOs all were worked using QRP, 5 watts except for five stations using 100w, two worked using 40w, eight worked using 12w and 1 using 10w. At least 7 stations were also running 5 watts and one station just 3 watts. The month’s experience has illustrated to me just how effective QRP is; the often quoted saying ‘life is too short for QRP’ is meaningless!
