Have you heard of 77 being used among CW Ops?

It has caught on among many CW Ops over the past year or so, and is held to mean:

• Long Live CW
• Wishing you many happy CW QSO
• Best wishes, Long Live CW, Wish you many happy CW QSO

Any or all of the above.

As OM Carlo IK0YGJ points out in Zen and the Art of Radiotelegraphy Morse Code is an evolving language. 77 has entered the language. It means all good things for CW. Let's use it as it is unique to CW!

Lou,

Signing off with 77 sounds great. It seems to be a new idea alright. I've heard it used and assumed (wrongly) that i was listening to a WWFF Flora and Fauna operator, but after checking I found that they use 44. I'll work 77 into my 30M operating when I'm QRV again.
